Orangeade Drinking Set by Jean-Pierre Vitrac, France, 1970s
1970s French Space Age plastic "Orangeade" drinking set by Jean-Pierre Vitrac for Depose
Produced in France in the early 1970s and designed by Jean Pierre Vitrac for Déposé, this set is featured in the book L'Utopie du tout plastique 1960–1973. A key example of French Space-Age design, it captures the optimism and precision of the era’s plastic revolution - when geometry, color, and function merged into pure form.Made from vivid orange ABS plastic, the jug and glasses stack into a seamless vertical composition. Viewed from above, the set reveals a perfect arrangement of concentric circles - an architectural study in proportion and repetition. Compact, modular, and distinctly futuristic, Vitrac’s Orangeade set balances playfulness with disciplined design, standing as both utilitarian serve-ware and sculptural object. Consists of a carafe, six stackable glasses, and two stirrers.
